Engineering Village

Engineering Village is a search and discovery platform which hosts highly curated databases in the fields of engineering and physical sciences. It provides access to journals, conference proceedings, trade publication, dissertations, standards, books, patents and technical reports. Featured databases include Compendex and Inspec.
1. Compendex
| - | An engineering-focused database comprised of journals, conference proceedings, dissertations, standards, books, and recent preprints |
| - | Covers more than 250 engineering disciplines |
| - | Contains 37 million records, of which 35 million records were published in 1970 to present |
| - | Adds over 1.6 million new records per year |
2. Inspec
| - | A research database created by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) |
| - | Contains over 22 million records across physics, electrical engineering and electronics, computers and control, mechanical and production engineering, information technology and more |
| - | Includes journals, conference proceedings, preprints, reports, books, patents, dissertations, standards, videos and consumer magazines |
| - | Adds over 880,000 new records per year |
| - | Extends its coverage with over 837,000 records dating back to 1898 in Inspec Archive |
| - | Enables to explore beyond the literature and uncover trends and patterns across a wide range of physics and engineering disciplines with the research intelligence tool Inspec Analytics |
3. Other databases include
| - | Ei Backfile: provides an index and abstracts of engineering literature published from 1884 to 1969 |
| - | Ei Patents: includes scientific and technical information in patent databases including World patents, European patents and US patents |
| - | GEOBASE: a database of indexed research covering relevant international geoscience and geography literature |
| - | GeoRef: provides international research literature focused primarily on geology and the geosciences |
| - | National Technical Information Service (NTIS) database: contains over 2.6 million abstract records and covers a range of subject areas including Electrotechnology, Energy and Health Care |
| - | PaperChem: covers topics related to chemistry, engineering, and production technology used by the pulp and paper industry |
| - | Chemical Business NewsBase (CBNB): contains news, in-depth commentary and insightful analysis regarding the chemical industry |
