South China Morning Post (SCMP) is Hong Kong’s premier English language newspaper published since 1903. Apart from the print version, CPCE Libraries has subscribed the online version of the newspaper. You can now read and search the newspapers from 1903 up to the current papers from the following two databases:

(A) ProQuest Historical Newspapers: South China Morning Post (1903-1996)

  • Provides unique insights into Hong Kong’s unique political and social history during the 20th century.
  • Provides big picture with full-image views of every page, cover to cover.
  • Every part of the page is searchable, including advertisements, editorials, cartoons, and classified ads that illuminate history as much as the articles.

(B) scmp.com (1996-present)

  • Online Edition (coverage: 1996-current): Includes daily news, analysis and opinion on Hong Kong, China and the rest of Asia for a global audience.
  • ePaper Edition (coverage: last 7 days): A replica of SCMP print edition can be read online or downloaded to your computer or tablet.
