Reading@CPCE – Book Essay Writing Competition

HKCC & SPEED students, you have a chance to win a prize now!

Eligibility: HKCC and SPEED students

Language: Chinese or English

Submission deadline: 24 February 2019

Book for your essay: Any one of your favourite books.

Group 1: Write and submit an essay on the work after reading a fiction book

Group 2: Write and submit an essay on the work after reading a non-fiction book

Criteria:

• Originality
• Language competency
• Creativity and imagination
• Evidence of personal reflection

Format: Save your essay (1,000-2,000 words in length) in a MS Word file. The file shall carry the title and author of the book that your essay reviews. NO personal information included.

Submission: Send your name, Student ID, title and author of the book your essay reviews, and your essay in the format stated above to libcontest@cpce-polyu.edu.hk. Please note that you can submit more than one essay but each winner is eligible for one prize only.

Prizes: Prizes vary from Mac Book Air, iPad, Gift Vouchers and more.

Result announcement: April 2019

A Judging Panel with the teachers of HKCC and SPEED, and College Librarian of CPCE Libraries will decide the winning essays. The Judging Panel may ask the participant to submit the book under review for information, if needed.
