Guide to download ProQuest Ebook Central ebooks

Downloading ProQuest Ebook Central E-books

Before doing any downloading, you need to create a personal ProQuest account by clicking the Sign In button at the top right of the ProQuest Ebook Central site and create an Adobe account. Assign yourself the username and password. Keep good record of them, since they are kept at ebrary and Adobe, the Library does not have any information.

Via computer:

  1. While browsing the list of e-books or viewing an e-book, click the Download button.
  2. Sign in your ProQuest account.
  3. Select the desired download options:
    • For all ProQuest Ebook Central e-books, up to 30 pages can be downloaded in PDF which will not expire.
    • For e-books of Multiple Simultaneous Users, user may read the downloaded e-book for up to 14 days, you need to sign in your Adobe account and download Adobe Digital Editions as the reader. The e-book will remain on your computer after 14 days, but unreadable. Delete it to avoid confusion. You may have up to 10 downloaded e-books at a time, and return an e-book early at the Adobe Digital Editions by shifting to Library View, clicking on the little grey arrow on the left of the e-book, and then selecting the option.

Via mobile app:

You may need to sign in your ProQuest Ebook Central site via your computer's browser at least once every 90 days to validate use on the mobile app.

  1. Install ProQuest Ebook Central app from "App Store" for iOS devices or "Google Play" for Android devices.
  2. Open the app, sign in your ProQuest account and Adobe account.
  3. Use the app's streamlined interface to
    • online, search for and read documents on your ProQuest Ebook Central site.
    • online, seamlessly download documents from your ProQuest Ebook Central site directly to the device.
    • offline, read previously downloaded ProQuest Ebook Central documents.
